Nazification of Germany

nazification - Nazi-Germany-May-1933Definition “Gleichschaltung”: “coordination” (German) – Reorganizing all social, political, and cultural organizations to be controlled and run according to Nazi ideology and policy.

Definition: The shifting of an entire society according to a predetermined clearly defined world-view, philosophy or belief system, it also meant (theoretically) to build a classless society, a Volksgemeinschaft = people with same ideals; anti-individualism,individual exists only for the good of the Nazi state. Goebbels once said: “You are nothing; the Volk (people) is everything”.

The Nazification of Germany referred to the total domination of virtually every aspect of life by the Nazi regime, their dogma, and their laws and restrictions. This pernicious influence came to permeate all forms of cultural expression, education, professional practice, and the most mundane aspects of daily life.
